Gravel Truck Crashes into Guardrail on National Highway 3, 5 Injured

Central News Agency, Taichung, June 1. A gravel truck lost control this morning, suspected to be caused by a flat front tire, and crashed into the inner guardrail at the 161.4 km mark northbound on National Highway 3. The gravel being transported spilled into the opposite lane, affecting three vehicles, one of which overturned. The accident resulted in five people being sent to the hospital. The cause of the accident is under police investigation. The Seventh Highway Police Brigade of the National Police Agency stated that the truck crashed while passing through the Dajia section of National Highway 3. Two passenger cars and one large truck were involved in the accident, with one passenger car suffering severe damage. According to preliminary police investigations, the driver stated that the front tire blew out, causing the loss of control.
