Central News Agency, Washington, May 31. Dell announced today the launch of its most affordable laptop, the XPS 13, hoping to attract students and young professionals with accessible pricing to gain market share and compete with Apple's MacBook Neo. According to Reuters, Dell stated the starting price for the XPS 13 is $699, with a discounted price of $599 for students over 16 during the back-to-school season. Dell claims the product offers a superior experience compared to the MacBook Neo. Dell's COO Jeff Clarke remarked that while Apple has launched good products, students and consumers deserve affordable and high-quality options. This move is part of Dell's strategy to compete across all price points in the consumer PC market, especially as memory chip costs are expected to rise in the second half of the year.
