New Taipei Expands Senior Card Usage; Mayoral Candidates from Both Camps Approve

According to the Central News Agency, New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih announced on the 1st that the scope of the Senior Card will be expanded. Lee Chuan-chiao stated that if elected, he would continue to expand the usage scope. A spokesperson for DPP mayoral candidate Su Tsao-hui stated that good policies transcend party lines and welcomed the city government's implementation of the policy. Su participated in a religious event at the Jinbaoli Cihu Temple on the same day. Mayor Hou announced that starting in the second half of next year, 300 points will be available for use at farmers' associations, pharmacies, and convenience stores. Lee Chuan-chiao also attended the Mazu Cultural Festival, expressing his deep respect for Mazu and promising to improve the convenience of the Senior Card if elected, ensuring that seniors can fully utilize their points.
