Central News Agency, Washington, May 31. The US Central Command stated today that it conducted 'self-defense strikes' against Iranian radar and drone control facilities in Goruk and Qeshm Island over the past weekend, in response to Tehran's 'aggressive actions.' According to Reuters, CENTCOM posted on X that after Iran shot down a US MQ-1 drone operating in international airspace, the US dispatched fighter jets to retaliate, destroying Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and two one-way attack drones. CENTCOM added that no US personnel were injured in the operation. The US and Iran also engaged in mutual attacks last week, when the US military bombed Iranian drone operation facilities near the Strait of Hormuz, after which Iran targeted a US airbase.
