Presidential Office to Host 30th Anniversary Events for Direct Presidential Election on June 6

The Presidential Office announced today that to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the direct presidential election, it will open to the public on June 6 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Two sessions of 'Democratic History Lessons' will be held in the Grand Hall, along with exhibitions on the first floor. The office invites the public to witness this milestone in Taiwan's democratic history. The program includes a lecture by Lan Shih-po, CEO of the 228 Incident Memorial Foundation, and a screening of the classic film 'March of Happiness' followed by a discussion. Registration is required via the official website. Additionally, a 'Democratic Food Truck Market' will be held in the South Garden, showcasing Taiwanese snacks. Various exhibitions, including those focused on the 1996 election, will be open for viewing. Visitors must enter through the security checkpoints at Baoqing and Bo'ai Roads.
