Ministry of Finance: Last Day for Income Tax Filing, Online System Open Until 11:59 PM

CNA reporter Lu Yen-tzu reports from Taipei. The Ministry of Finance announced today that the deadline for the 114th fiscal year income tax filing is 11:59 PM tonight. As of yesterday, 6.859 million individual income tax returns had been filed, accounting for 98.2% of last year's total. Online filing and tax assessment services have reached a 99.6% usage rate, becoming the mainstream method. The Ministry urges those who have not yet completed their filing to do so as soon as possible. The online system will remain open until 11:59 PM tonight, and taxpayers can verify their filing status on the 'Ministry of Finance Electronic Filing and Tax Payment Service' website. For in-person filing, local tax offices are working through lunch and have extended service hours until 7:00 PM tonight. Minister of Finance Chuang Tsui-yun visited the Xinyi Branch of the Taipei National Tax Administration today to oversee operations and thank staff for their efforts.
