Typhoon Chan-hom Approaches Japan; Wu Der-rong Warns of Rain in Northern Taiwan

According to the Central Weather Administration, Typhoon Chan-hom is moving northeast, passing through the Ryukyu Islands today and expected to affect Kyushu, Shikoku, and southern Honshu on the 2nd and 3rd. Wu noted that moisture from the typhoon's periphery will bring intermittent rain to northern and northeastern Taiwan, with temperatures cooling in the north. He further predicts that from the 5th to the 10th, the interaction between the plum rain front and the southwest monsoon will lead to a highly unstable atmosphere, marking the peak of the plum rain season.
