According to CNA, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang delivered a keynote at GTC Taipei on the 1st, fueling a rally in AI-related stocks. The Taiwan stock market opened higher and climbed throughout the day, briefly rising nearly 1,200 points to reach a historical high of 45,931 points. Although gains narrowed toward the close, the index finished at 45,337.91 points, setting a new record for closing value. The weighted index rose 604.97 points, or 1.35%, with a turnover of 1.477 trillion TWD. Among major stocks, TSMC rose by as much as 60 TWD during the session but closed flat at 2,355 TWD. Delta Electronics fell to 2,420 TWD, Foxconn rose 4.5 TWD to 293.5 TWD, and MediaTek climbed 245 TWD to 4,555 TWD.
