The Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance announced on the 2nd that it will impose provisional anti-dumping duties on cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel imported from South Korea and China for a period of four months, starting June 8. The duties range from 45.68% to 49.84% for South Korean firms and 26.44% for Chinese firms. According to the announcement, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Affairs have preliminarily determined that dumping is occurring and causing material injury to Taiwan's industry. To prevent further damage during the investigation, provisional duties will be applied. Affected South Korean companies include POSCO and its affiliates, while all Chinese manufacturers and exporters are subject to the 26.44% rate. A final determination on dumping will be made within 60 days, followed by a final assessment of industrial injury by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
