Premier Cho Jung-tai: Bill to Support SMEs and Startups to be Submitted to Legislative Yuan in September

Premier Cho Jung-tai attended the opening ceremony of InnoVEX 2026 and stated that the government is drafting the 'SME and Startup Transformation and Upgrading Act' to accelerate the transformation of small and micro enterprises and startups, as proposed by President Lai Ching-te. The bill is expected to be submitted to the Legislative Yuan in September. Cho emphasized that Taiwan will leverage its complete ecosystem in AI, semiconductors, and ICT to promote smart applications across all industries. The government plans to invest 100 billion TWD, train 500,000 AI professionals, and focus on key technologies like quantum computing and AI robotics to maintain Taiwan's global leadership.
