High-level officials from four Indian state governments visited Taiwan to participate in the '2026 Taiwan-India Investment Partnership Forum.' Lu Chen-hui, Acting Director-General of the Department of Investment Services at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, stated that India is accelerating the establishment of a complete semiconductor supply chain, creating significant opportunities for cooperation with Taiwan. Representatives from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka shared investment policies with over 100 participating companies. Ninad Deshpande, Director General of the India-Taipei Association, noted that cost is no longer the only factor, as 'resilience' and 'trust' have become critical. He highlighted the high complementarity between Taiwan's semiconductor and electronics expertise and India's talent, digital economy, and vast domestic market. Both sides aim to deepen cooperation in AI, semiconductors, and smart manufacturing.
