The KADOKAWA WORLD MANGA CONTEST, hosted by the Japanese publishing giant KADOKAWA, recently announced its winners, with Taiwanese creators performing exceptionally well. Out of 1,959 entries from 118 countries and regions, three Taiwanese works were awarded gold, bronze, and effort prizes. Eli Lin won the gold award in the silent manga category for 'Cells Within the Body.' The jury praised the work for its exceptional narrative structure. Taiwan's Minister of Culture, Li Yuan, expressed his joy and congratulated the winners, noting that Taiwan's manga industry continues to show great energy. Representative to Japan, Lee I-yang, also congratulated the artists, stating that such works help Japanese audiences better understand and appreciate Taiwan. Winners receive cash prizes and editorial support, and their works will be featured on KADOKAWA's platform, KADOCOMI.
