Subsequently, profit-taking selling pressure emerged, causing a fluctuation of over 1,000 points. The weighted index finally closed up 219.40 points at 45,557.31, continuing to set new highs, with a turnover of NT$1.607583 trillion. TSMC rose 25 yuan to close at 2,380 yuan. Among other major stocks, Hon Hai rose 8 yuan to 301.5 yuan; MediaTek fell 30 yuan to 4,525 yuan; Delta Electronics fell 60 yuan to 2,360 yuan. The electronics sector index rose 0.37%, the financial sector index rose 2.20%, while the OTC index, representing small and medium-sized stocks, fell 1.21%.
