Hsinchu City Forms City Baseball Team, Appoints Chen Jui-chen as Head Coach

Central News Agency, Hsinchu, June 2. The Hsinchu City Government announced today the formation of the 'Hsinchu City Baseball Team' to promote the development of baseball. Chen Jui-chen, who has extensive experience coaching in professional baseball, has been appointed as the head coach, with the goal of creating a talent development system and rooting the sport in the local community. Mayor Kao Hung-an met with Chen today, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Lin Kun-han and municipal advisor Chang Tai-shan, to officially launch the team. Mayor Kao stated that baseball is a representative national sport in Taiwan, and the team's establishment is a significant milestone for the city's sports development, aiming to increase the city's visibility through participation in various competitions. Advisor Chang Tai-shan noted that many young players often have to leave their hometowns for better opportunities, and this team aims to provide a complete development system so children can pursue their dreams in Hsinchu. According to Education Department Director Lin Li-sheng, the team will be based at the Hsinchu Municipal Stadium, with a staff of 40, including coaches, managers, trainers, and 30 players. The city will gradually complete recruitment and administrative setup to ensure professional and systematic growth.
