Central News Agency, Kaohsiung, June 2. A trainer aircraft crashed today during a training mission at the Air Force Gangshan Base, resulting in the deaths of two pilots. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai stated that the city will maintain contact with the military and the families to assist with subsequent arrangements. In a Facebook post, Mayor Chen expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the two pilots, surnamed Lu and Kuo, who had long served the nation's air defense and training missions. The city has confirmed that both pilots were registered residents of Sanmin and Nanzi districts, respectively. The city will continue to coordinate with the military to support the families. According to the Air Force, both pilots had over 2,000 flight hours on the T-34.
