Central News Agency reporter Wu Hsin-yun, Taipei, June 2. The Ministry of Labor announced today that it is upgrading its 'Job Redesign' program, which helps people with disabilities and others overcome work obstacles. The program now includes four new categories: people with dementia, unilateral hearing loss, psychiatric patients, and special education students. Support services are now available from the recruitment stage through to employment. Liu Yu-yi, head of the Employment Division for People with Disabilities at the Workforce Development Agency, stated that previously, individual applications were limited to assistive devices. Now, the scope has expanded to include workplace environment improvements and work method adjustments, which employees can apply for directly. The subsidy review mechanism has also been optimized to ensure effective use of government resources based on individual needs.
