(Central News Agency reporter Yang Sirui, Tainan, 3rd) Facing the trend of net-zero transformation, businesses are increasingly focusing on carbon emission management. The Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Regional Branch of the Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor, has launched net-zero emission related courses to assist on-the-job workers in obtaining the "iPAS Net Zero Carbon Planning Manager (Entry Level)" certification, enhancing their competitiveness in the workplace.
41-year-old trainee Wang Xiangming told a Central News Agency reporter that he previously worked in occupational safety in the construction and manufacturing industries. With the rise of the global net-zero emission trend in recent years, companies have gradually begun to value carbon management and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) issues. Therefore, he actively sought further training resources. He currently serves as a specialist in the Safety and Health Office at his company, primarily responsible for greenhouse gas inventory and system maintenance.
Wang stated that a colleague recommended the "Industrial Talent Investment Program" run by the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Regional Branch. After checking the courses, he has participated in seven courses related to net-zero emissions and greenhouse gas inventory since 2023. He noted that this not only helps him grasp the latest industry information but also allows him to quickly understand company client needs and apply this knowledge practically to improve his professional skills and work efficiency.
Wang pointed out that net-zero emissions cannot be fully mastered in a short time; it requires continuous learning and practical accumulation. Encouraged by the instructors, he successfully obtained the "iPAS Net Zero Carbon Planning Manager (Entry Level)" certification, adding a new specialty to his career. His company is also very supportive of employees participating in on-the-job training to enhance their professional capabilities.
Liu Bangdong, Director of the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Regional Branch, stated that in the face of rapid industrial trends such as net-zero emissions, AI applications, and digital transformation, the Ministry of Labor continues to assist on-the-job workers in upgrading their skills through the "Industrial Talent Investment Program." Eligible on-the-job workers can receive a maximum training subsidy of NT$100,000 per person every three years, reducing the burden of further education. (Editor: Zhang Yajing) 1150603
