(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 3, Reporter Yu Kaixiang) The Ministry of National Defense stated today that starting at 8:22 a.m., a total of 21 sorties of various Chinese main and auxiliary fighters and drones, including J-10, J-16, and KJ-500, were detected. Of these, 14 crossed the median line and its extension, entering Taiwan's central and southwestern airspace. This was conducted in coordination with Chinese naval vessels under the guise of a "joint combat readiness patrol" to harass the air and sea space around Taiwan. Additionally, the military released images of the Chinese warship Jingdezhen (617) harassing the southwestern sea area, monitored by the ROCS Cheng Ho, and an Air Force F-16V (Block 20) monitoring a Chinese WZ-10 drone. The MND emphasized that the military used comprehensive intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance measures to maintain strict situational awareness and deployed appropriate mission aircraft, vessels, and shore-based missile systems in response.
