Croatian police said a small plane crashed on the Adriatic coast in the northwest of the country on Tuesday, killing at least four people. According to a police statement cited by AFP, "Based on the information currently available, four people have died." The crash occurred in the town of Medulin on the Istria Peninsula in northwestern Croatia. The statement added that the plane crashed outside Medulin and that "all emergency services have arrived at the scene." The National Fire Association reported receiving a notification of a plane crash near the Medulin stadium at 11:19 a.m. local time, dispatching seven firefighters and three fire trucks, along with emergency medical teams and police. Local reports indicate that rescue teams are still searching for two other missing persons. According to state broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT), the crashed aircraft was a German-registered small plane that had departed from Austria bound for Medulin.
