(Central News Agency, Houston, 4th Combined Foreign News) International oil prices fell about 3% on Tuesday, as investors grew hopeful that the US and Iran could end their war and the Strait of Hormuz could reopen, following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
Reuters reported that Israel and Lebanon announced their agreement to a ceasefire overnight, sparking investor hopes for a US-Iran deal. Iran had stated that any agreement must include an end to fighting between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah.
Brent crude futures fell $2.78, or 2.84%, to settle at $95.03 per barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell $2.98, or 3.1%, to settle at $93.04 per barrel. (Editor: Yang Zhaoyan) 1150605
