(Central News Agency, Keelung, 4th, by Shen Rufeng) A 37-year-old man surnamed Yeh, suspected of driving after using the drug etomidate, crashed into six parked scooters and injured a pedestrian in Keelung City last night before fleeing. Police tracked and arrested him within 30 minutes of receiving the report and transferred him to the Keelung District Prosecutors Office for investigation.

Police investigation revealed that at around 6 p.m. on the 4th, Yeh lost control of his vehicle while driving on Lane 87, Fu 1st Street, Qidu District, Keelung City. He crashed into six parked scooters and a pedestrian before fleeing the scene. Upon receiving the report, officers immediately rushed to the scene, assisted the injured person to the hospital, and, based on surveillance footage, arrested Yeh within 30 minutes.

Police stated that they seized two etomidate vape cartridges from Yeh at the scene. A subsequent drug saliva test showed a positive reaction for etomidate. Yeh has been transferred to the Keelung District Prosecutors Office on charges of violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act and public endangerment under the Criminal Code.
