(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 4) Taiwanese pitcher Pan Wen-Hui, playing for the Philadelphia Phillies' High-A affiliate, threw 2 scoreless innings of relief today, earning his first career win at the High-A level after his teammates hit a walk-off single. His ERA at High-A this season remains a perfect 0.00. Pan underwent Tommy John surgery in November 2024, causing him to miss the entire 2024 season. He returned to the mound this year, first pitching 6 games in Single-A to regain his form before being promoted to High-A in mid-May. Facing the New York Mets' High-A affiliate today, Pan entered the game in the top of the 9th inning and retired the side in order. With the game tied, he returned for the 10th inning. He allowed one hit but recorded 2 strikeouts and benefited from defensive help to keep the game scoreless. The Phillies' High-A team then hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th to win 5-4, making Pan the winning pitcher. In 7 appearances at High-A this season, he has pitched a total of 9 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts, showing excellent form. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150604
