(Central News Agency, reporter Chen Zhizhong, Taipei, June 4) The Ministry of Education encourages young people to use their summer vacation to gain experience at non-profit organizations. This year's program offers a total of 700 positions, with applications closing on the 18th of this month. The program is now in its final stage, and positions will be removed from the listing once suitable candidates are found.
The Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education announced today via a press release that the '115th Year Youth Summer Community Workplace Experience Program' will run from July 1 to August 14. The government will provide a total salary of NT$44,250, along with accident insurance and support services. College students under the age of 35 are welcome to apply.
Last summer, Su Wen-ci, a student from the Department of Cultural and Creative Industries at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, and Guo Li-ting, a student from the Department of Public Administration at National University of Tainan, participated in the program at the 'Anping Culture and Education Foundation.' During their experience, they were responsible for brochure design, exhibition setup, and tour planning, applying what they learned in the classroom to practical work. They received an 'Excellent' rating in the final competition.
Su Wen-ci stated that design is not just about creating a product, but a process of problem-solving. By observing local needs, she was able to make her design more attuned to the community's pulse.
Guo Li-ting, through diverse tasks such as exhibition openings, guided tours, emceeing, and video editing, learned organizational and adaptability skills. She felt the power of culture being understood and sustained when participants became curious and resonated with local stories through the tours.
There is no limit to the number of resumes a qualified youth can submit for the 'Youth Summer Community Workplace Experience Program,' allowing them to try multiple positions to increase their chances of being hired.
