TAIPEI (CNA) – With summer vacation approaching, Taipei Zoo announced on Thursday that it will close for 10 days starting June 22 for renovation work to provide a better visiting experience and to prepare for special Saturday night events in July and August.
In a press release, the zoo stated that it schedules an annual non-public period to minimize disturbance to animals and concentrate on major repairs. This year, the closure will be from June 22 to July 1, and the public is advised to avoid visiting during this time.
Following the maintenance, the zoo will launch its summer-limited Saturday extended hours. Every Saturday in July and August, the zoo will remain open until 9 PM, offering nighttime-only activities for a different experience from daytime visits.
The zoo also noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the summer extended hours program, which began in 2006. To celebrate, a special exhibition will be held in the Children's Zoo area. Visitors are invited to browse their photo albums and submit their memories to the zoo by June 15 to help create a 'Time Corridor' display.
