Taitung's First 'Most Beautiful Starry Sky' Concert Kicks Off June 6 with Hong Peiyu Performing at Jinzun Beach

(Central News Agency, reporter Lu Taicheng, Taitung County, 5th) One of Taitung's major summer events, the Taitung Most Beautiful Starry Sky Concert, will kick off its first performance on the 6th at Jinzun Beach on the east coast. Artist Hong Peiyu will lead the opening act, unveiling the nine-event 'Taitung Most Beautiful Starry Sky' series running from June to the end of August.

Bu Minzheng, Director of the Taitung County Government's Tourism Development Department, told CNA today that the first event of the highly anticipated '2026 Taitung Most Beautiful Starry Sky' series, a key brand of the Taitung County Government, will be held at 6:30 PM on the 6th at the Jinzun Tombolo Beach in Donghe Township, a representative coastal scenic spot in Taitung. He welcomed tourists and the public to visit Jinzun Beach to listen to the sea and enjoy the music.

He said the first starry sky concert will be headlined by Golden Melody Award nominee Hong Peiyu, with performances by the creative duo Theseus, local groups Urban Island, and Dongbuqing. As night falls and the lights gradually dim, the audience seating extends along the coast. Accompanied by the sound of waves and live music, attendees can look up to see a sky full of stars, creating an immersive starry sky experience that combines nature and performance, unveiling the summer night's prelude amidst the coastal stars and the sound of waves.

Bu Minzheng stated that in addition to the musical performances, a food market featuring local Taitung specialties will be set up, allowing the public to savor local flavors while enjoying the show. A paid shuttle service will also be provided, departing from Taitung Train Station at 4 PM on the 6th, passing through Taitung Bus Terminal before arriving at the venue, enhancing overall convenience and making it easier for more people to attend the event.

This year also introduces the 'Co-create the Starry Sky' interactive experience for the first time. Audience members can draw their own stars in real-time via their smartphones. After the event, a limited-edition digital starry sky poster for that night will be generated, allowing participants not just to watch but to become part of the co-creation.

Bu Minzheng said, 'Taitung Most Beautiful Starry Sky' continues to focus on low-light-pollution environments, combining music and natural settings to encourage more people to step into the night and rediscover the relationship between people and the environment.
