The Military News Agency reported that the Political Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense held the expanded seminar on the new construction project of the National Military Museum yesterday. The meeting convened the project team and technical service providers to jointly review the project's progress, requiring all units to strictly control the construction schedule, implement site safety management, and ensure construction quality and safety.
The Military News Agency indicated that the meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General Sun Li-fang and included representatives from design supervision, project management, and construction companies. They discussed the project progress and occupational safety and health requirements.
Sun stated that the Military Museum is Taiwan's first national-level professional military museum, bearing the important mission of preserving the history of the armed forces and passing on the spirit of national defense. The main construction has now entered its final critical stage and has attracted significant attention and expectations from all sectors. Sun pointed out that subsequent tasks include moving equipment into the museum and setting up exhibition spaces. As the plum rain season approaches, which can bring heavy rains and typhoons, all disaster prevention preparations should be completed early to ensure the safety of the construction site. He expressed hope of obtaining the usage permit by the end of the year and thanked all project teams for their long-term dedication in jointly advancing the Military Museum project towards its final stage.
The Military News Agency report mentioned that the construction of the National Military Museum began on May 21, 2021. Progress has reached 90%, and interior decoration and landscaping work are currently underway. The main construction is expected to be completed by fiscal year 2026, followed by the exhibition construction phase.
