(Central News Agency, Taipei, 5th) Regarding the impending closure of Hsinchu City's private World Senior High School, the Ministry of Education (MOE) stated today that all students have either transferred to other schools or graduated, and that faculty and staff will receive assistance with job placement. The MOE has not yet received any merger or closure plan from the school. The MOE explained that World Senior High School was approved to suspend enrollment of new students for the 114th academic year. All second-year students from that academic year have transferred to other schools, while third-year students have graduated from the original school. The school currently has no students. The MOE said that the school had a plan in place when it applied to suspend enrollment and will respect the wishes of current faculty and staff, providing assistance for their transition and placement. Some media reports have suggested that World Senior High School plans to sell its campus to Hsinchu Kang Chiao Bilingual School. In response, the MOE stated that it has not yet received an application from the school's governing body to close the school or to merge with another entity or school. The MOE will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that World Senior High School proceeds in accordance with the Private School Act and related regulations. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150605
