(Central News Agency, Washington, 5th, combined foreign reports) According to initial public offering (IPO) filing documents, SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, signed a major cloud computing agreement with Google today. The agreement states that Google will pay $920 million (NT$29.05 billion) per month to access the computing power of a massive AI chip cluster.
AFP reports that this transaction will help strengthen SpaceX's financial position before its listing on June 12.
The agreement covers a computing infrastructure composed of approximately 110,000 Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs). These GPUs are crucial hardware supporting the operation of Google's Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) model.
The documents indicate that Google will begin paying the full monthly fee starting in October 2026, with lower rates applicable during the construction and expansion period beforehand. The agreement will last until June 2029, meaning Google's total payments over the contract period will be approximately $30 billion.
This transaction is similar to SpaceX's previous cooperation model with Anthropic. Anthropic leased computing resources from SpaceX's Colossus data center in Memphis, Tennessee, at a cost of $1.25 billion per month.
Both major contracts with Google and Anthropic were finalized just days before SpaceX's IPO.
This SpaceX IPO is expected to be the largest in history, with the company valued at $1.8 trillion.
This valuation is largely based on market confidence in Elon Musk's vision, including significantly expanding the Starlink satellite network business, deploying data centers in space using SpaceX rockets, and advancing long-term plans such as establishing a human colony on Mars.
