(Central News Agency, reporter Zeng Renkai, Taipei, 8th) Yuanta Taiwan 50 (0050), the leading ETF in Taiwan, has reached a new milestone. According to the latest statistics from the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation as of June 5, the number of beneficiaries of 0050 reached 3.008 million, officially breaking through the 3 million mark. This not only firmly secures its position as the Taiwan stock ETF with the most beneficiaries but also surpasses the 2.678 million shareholders of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (2330). Prior to this, the asset size of 0050 also crossed the NT$2 trillion mark for the first time on June 1, leading the second-place Yuanta High Dividend (0056) by approximately NT$700 billion, maintaining its dual crown as the Taiwan stock ETF with the largest asset size and the highest number of investors. 0050 is the oldest ETF in Taiwan, established on June 25, 2003. Yuanta Securities Investment Trust reviewed 0050's growth trajectory: 0050's beneficiary count broke 1 million in March 2025, 2 million in December of the same year, and this time, it took only 6 months to break through the 3 million mark. Compared to the approximately 14.3 million accounts currently opened in Taiwan, this means more than one-fifth of Taiwan's stock investors hold 0050. Yuanta Securities Investment Trust stated that 0050 guides investors away from being limited to stock-picking operations, shifting towards a market-cap-weighted investment strategy that stably participates in the 'overall market.' According to statistics from the Taiwan Stock Exchange and the Securities Investment Trust & Consulting Association of Taiwan as of the end of April, the number of regular fixed-amount investment accounts for 0050 reached 1.008 million, with a monthly regular fixed-amount amount of approximately NT$10 billion, indicating that market-cap-weighted ETFs have become the most important long-term investment cornerstone for the people of Taiwan.
