(Central News Agency reporter He Xiuling, Taipei, 9th) Following the stabilization of major US stock indices, the Taiwan stock market opened higher today. In early trading, it surged over 400 points, reaching a high of 43,985.73 points. Market heavyweight TSMC rose by NT$15 to NT$2,310.

Other heavyweight stocks in early trading: Hon Hai rose NT$2.5 to NT$272, MediaTek rose NT$160 to NT$4,230, and Delta Electronics rose NT$25 to NT$2,280.
