According to Taipower statistics, over 140,000 households were affected, and all power was restored within 30 minutes.

On the night of the 9th, heavy rain had also caused Taipower equipment failure in Taichung City, leading to a power outage for 815 households in areas including Zhongzheng Road, Xinyi Street, Wenya Street, Section 8 of Taiwan Boulevard, and Section 1 of Minhe Road in Wuqi District. Taipower personnel immediately began repairs, and power was gradually restored.

Heavy rain fell in Taichung City on the morning of the 10th, only temporarily stopping in the afternoon. At 2:17 PM, a power outage was reported in the coastal areas. In the Jingyi commercial area in Shalu, Donghai Street in Longjing, and shops on Dajia Street, the outage left stores dark and traffic lights non-functional.

Taipower explained in a press release that at 2:17 PM on the 10th, equipment failures at the Zhongqing, Mingxiu, Qingquan, Shalu, Wuqi, Guanlian, and Dajia substations caused a power outage for 141,739 households in the coastal districts of Qingshui, Shalu, Wuqi, and Dajia in Taichung City. Taipower immediately dispatched personnel for repairs and enhanced patrols, and all power was restored by 2:43 PM. The detailed cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
