SuperAI, a major Asian artificial intelligence forum, kicked off today at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. Executives, scholars, and experts from global tech companies including OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Microsoft, AMD, and Grab gathered to exchange views on AI's impact on industry and society.
A chess robot set up at the venue, allowing attendees to play against it, became a major attraction. A UK-based tech startup founder named Tim told CNA that the speed of AI development is astonishing, noting that AI not only demonstrates high-level strategic thinking in chess but is also gradually integrating into people's daily lives and various industries. He believes AI will play an even greater role in improving work efficiency and fostering innovation, expressing great anticipation for technological progress.
Among the exhibitors, Xu Gao, founder of AI notebook brand Plaud, stated in a speech that technology has evolved through stages of 'Type, Touch, Speech' — from keyboard input in the PC era, to touch controls in the mobile device era, and now to voice interaction driven by wearable devices. With advances in AI, users can now express their needs intuitively, and technology is moving towards more natural human-computer interaction.
Liu Peixin, a director of the Singapore FinTech Association, told CNA that the association maintains exchanges with the Taiwan FinTech Alliance. She noted that Singapore has invested heavily in AI development in recent years, with related policy visions driven by current Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, gradually building a complete technology development blueprint.
Liu believes that Taiwan and Singapore each have their own advantages in technological innovation and fintech, and can further deepen cooperation and talent exchange in the future to create more development opportunities.
