(Central News Agency reporter Pan Zhi-yi, Taipei, 11th) Network equipment maker Accton Technology (智邦科技) said today that it is actively expanding production capacity at home and abroad in response to warming customer demand. The Guishan plant in Taoyuan has begun small-volume shipments and is expected to ramp up in the third quarter of this year. The Nanliao facility, originally used for storage, has been planned for production-line expansion and is scheduled to commence operations next year.

On overseas lines, the Vietnam plant already has mass-production capability and a third plant is planned to target high-end products. The Dallas plant in the United States is scheduled for equipment installation by the end of this year and mass production next year, primarily focusing on rack-related products. Singapore and Malaysia plants will be commissioned this year and next year, producing items that include optical products, co-packaged optics (CPO) modules, and switches.

Accton said the customer demand this year is stronger than at the end of last year, but macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties remain, requiring cautious handling. Meanwhile, AI demand has exploded; memory remains in short supply, and more recently multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) have also become tight. Rapid growth in material demand has caused supply-demand imbalances, creating new challenges across the industry chain.

Regarding products, Accton explained that among its main product lines—optical, switches and rack solutions—optical products show the strongest demand and switch shipments continue to gain momentum. As for rack solutions, demand is growing in step with data center upgrade needs because they integrate servers, switches, cooling and power management. (Edited by Zhang Junmao) 1150611
