(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 12) The Taipei City Department of Education stated today that a netizen's claim that their child's kindergarten was teaching a song commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is a "mistaken complaint." The department confirmed that the song selected by the kindergarten is not a CCP anniversary song, and the related allegations are inconsistent with the facts.

A parent recently posted online that their child was practicing a song for the kindergarten graduation ceremony, claiming that one of the songs, "Light Up the Future" by Li Xinrong, is a song commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CCP. Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) Deputy Minister and Spokesperson Liang Wen-chieh stated yesterday that he had received a complaint from a citizen over a month ago and had asked the Ministry of Education to forward it to the Taipei City Department of Education for investigation.

The Taipei City Department of Education stated today that after receiving the complaint forwarded by the National Education Administration in May, it immediately followed procedures to clarify the facts. It confirmed that the kindergarten had indeed selected "Light Up the Future" by Li Xinrong as a graduation song. However, the CCP anniversary song is "Light Up the Future" performed by Gong Jun and others. The two songs differ in lyrics, composers, and singers. Therefore, the department considers this a case of mistaken identity.

The department emphasized that the allegations are clearly inconsistent with the facts and that public discussion should be based on facts to prevent misinformation from misleading the public. (Editor: Huang Mingxi) 1150612
