According to Japanese media reports, the New Chitose Airport office in Hokkaido stated that a Tigerair Taiwan aircraft landed on Runway B at New Chitose Airport around 11:00 a.m. Japan time (10:00 a.m. Taiwan time) on Thursday, June 12. The aircraft had reported "smoke in the cockpit."
Kyodo News reported that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's New Chitose Airport office confirmed that Tigerair Taiwan Flight 234, which departed from Taipei and was bound for Sapporo, reported "cockpit smoke."
The aircraft has landed at New Chitose Airport, and no casualties have been reported so far.
Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting (UHB) reported that local fire departments received a call stating that the aircraft would make an emergency landing due to cockpit smoke.
Sapporo Television (STV) reported that an employee of Hokkaido Airport called the fire department around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, reporting that an aircraft was making an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport. According to local fire authorities, the aircraft landed around 10:50 a.m., and there are no signs of fire or reports of injuries.
