(Washington, 12th - CNA,综合外电报道) The Wall Street Journal reported today, citing sources, that a coalition of U.S. state attorneys general has launched an investigation into OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT.

According to the report, the artificial intelligence (AI) company received a broad subpoena today requesting documents related to various business activities and user impacts, including advertising, user engagement and retention, and the handling of consumer and health data.

The subpoena, issued by the New York State Attorney General, also demands information on activities related to minors and the elderly, deep learning models, and the company's internal policies.

In response, an OpenAI spokesperson said: 'Artificial intelligence is a new and powerful technology, and we work every day to responsibly bring its benefits to the public safely. We take seriously the concerns raised by state attorneys general and will cooperate constructively with them.'

Just days before this report was published, OpenAI had secretly filed documents for an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States. Sources indicate the company could go public as early as September, with a valuation reaching up to $1 trillion. (Translation: Shih Shih) 1150613
