US-Iran War Key News

(Central News Agency, Washington, 14 - international news) US Vice President JD Vance said today that reaching an agreement with Iran is a 'major moment for America,' though he acknowledged much work remains.

According to CNN, Vance told Fox News: 'I won't say everyone will be singing together and getting along tomorrow. Learning the path to peace takes time, but I do believe we took a very, very important step tonight.'

Vance outlined three core pillars of the agreement. First is the 'immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz,' along with 'lifting our maritime blockade on Iran.'

Second, ensuring Iran will never develop, acquire, or purchase nuclear weapons. Third, adherence to the agreement.

Vance stated: 'Let me be clear: all of this only happens if Iran fulfills its commitments.'

He also emphasized the agreement will bring positive economic benefits to American consumers, who have suffered from high oil prices over recent months.

'The most important message I want to convey to the American people is “thank you,”' he said. 'Because of your patience, I believe we have solved a problem that has troubled America for decades.'

Vance noted President Trump has been deeply concerned about high energy prices, adding, 'We will now be able to reduce energy costs—not just now, but in the long term.'

However, as CNN reported, even with the Strait of Hormuz reopened, the global energy system has already suffered severe disruption, and pre-war energy prices are unlikely to return in the short term. (Compiled by Liu Wen-yu) 1150615
