Railway Police Collaborates with Ink Painter Chen Shih-Hou on Anti-Fraud Public Welfare Campaign: Zhong Kui Strikes Against Scams

(Taipei, June 17 — Reporter Huang Li-Yun) With the Dragon Boat Festival holiday approaching, the Railway Police Bureau today launched a public welfare anti-fraud initiative in collaboration with ink painter Chen Shih-Hou. Chen performed a live ink painting of Zhong Kui, the 'Demon-Subduing Deity,' whose artwork was authorized for the production of limited-edition 'Zhong Kui Anti-Scam Fans' and other promotional items, distributed simultaneously at five locations across Taiwan.

The Railway Police Bureau of the Ministry of the Interior's National Police Agency held a press conference at Taipei Main Station today titled 'Dragon Boat Arrows, Zhong Kui Strikes Scams' to promote fraud awareness. Renowned ink painter Chen Shih-Hou generously donated the rights to his Zhong Kui artwork, which was used to produce 500 'Zhong Kui Anti-Scam Fans' and 570 'Peace Sachets' for the Dragon Boat Festival. These items were distributed simultaneously at five locations: the Bureau's headquarters and Taipei Branch, Taichung Station, Kaohsiung Station, and Hualien Station.

Railway Police Director Chen Jin-Kun stated, citing real-time statistics from the 165 Anti-Fraud Dashboard, that the most prevalent fraud schemes currently include fake investment scams, romance scams, impersonation of law enforcement or prosecutors, and online shopping fraud. Criminal groups continuously innovate their tactics, leading to record-high financial losses for the public. Fake investment scams have consistently ranked highest in terms of financial damage, severely threatening citizens' financial security.

'In real life, no stranger will proactively help you get rich. Online, those who enthusiastically teach you investment strategies are, nine times out of ten, following a script written by fraud gangs!' warned Huang Chung-Wen, Chief of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Railway Police Bureau. He urged the public to remain rational when managing finances and to immediately call 165 if they suspect fraud.

The promotional items distributed at the event also feature a QR code linking to the 165 Anti-Fraud Dashboard. The Railway Police Bureau explained that by scanning the code, the public can instantly access real-time data on the latest fraud trends and anti-scam information. The bureau also called on citizens to remember the 'Three Don'ts of Fraud Prevention': 'Don't Trust Easily' — do not believe unsolicited investment opportunities online; 'Don't Transfer Money' — always verify before sending money for any reason; and 'Don't Hesitate' — immediately call 165 or 110 if in doubt.
