U.S. major indices closed lower, but Taiwan's stock market opened higher today, surpassing the 46,400-point threshold, led by gains in heavyweight TSMC. The index hit a morning high of 46,463 points, rising over 580 points. Electronics, finance, and traditional industry stocks all advanced.

TSMC, known as the 'market king,' reached a morning high of NT$2,410, up NT$25 (1.05%). Hon Hai briefly dropped to NT$269, down over 1%. Nanya Electronic Materials, benefiting from improved core operations, surged to the daily trading limit at NT$139 in morning trading. (Editor: Chang Chun-Mao) 1150618
