(CNA Taipei, June 18) Functional fabric manufacturer J&B-KY announced today that its subsidiary, J&B Textile Vietnam Co., Ltd., has selected Sun Yue Construction Co., Ltd. as the new contractor for its factory construction. The total project cost, excluding tax, is 248.4 billion Vietnamese dong (approximately NT$296 million).

J&B-KY General Manager Hsiao Chih-wei had previously announced that the land for the self-owned factory in Vietnam has been purchased and environmental impact assessments have been applied for. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with the goal of completing the factory by the end of 2026. Trial operations are scheduled to commence in 2027, with an initial planned production capacity of 2 million yards of woven fabric per month, which is expected to inject new momentum into the company's operations.

J&B specializes in functional fabrics, focusing on design and research and development. It is responsible for the midstream of the textile supply chain, including weaving, dyeing, finishing, and post-processing. Its clients include international first-tier outdoor sports brands such as Nike, Boardriders, BURTON, Vuori, and Helly Hansen, with applications in skiing, surfing, and more.

J&B-KY continues to advance its factory establishment in Vietnam, introducing strategic investors for collaboration. Last year, it announced that its subsidiary J&B Vietnam signed an investment agreement with Hong Kong's Huayang Holdings Company to jointly invest in the Vietnamese subsidiary J&B Textile Vietnam. 1150618
