Alishan Botanical Garden Greenhouse 'Floating Light Realm' Opens, Enhancing Forest Therapy Experience

(CNA reporter Tsai Chih-ming, Chiayi County, June 18) Named after light, the Alishan Botanical Garden Greenhouse 'Floating Light Realm' within the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area opened today, creating a new starting point for ecological tourism, enhancing forest therapy, and providing the public with a new venue that combines popular science education and artistic experience.

The Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency's Chiayi Branch stated in a press release today that the greenhouse is named 'Floating Light Realm,' originating from the natural imagery of Alishan's long-term cloud and mist, morning light penetrating the forest, and flowing leaf shadows.

Li Ting-chung, head of the Chiayi Branch, said that through the artistic curation of plants by artists and the integration of spatial flow design, the greenhouse showcases the rich and delicate life forms of alpine plants amidst humidity, light, and seasonal changes, allowing visitors to quietly feel the subtle and tranquil power of mountain life amidst the interplay of light and mist.

Li Ting-chung stated that the greenhouse cultivates various representative plants named 'Alishan,' showcasing the diverse species found in Alishan's unique alpine environment. Visitors can observe the postures and characteristics of various alpine plants up close within the greenhouse space, gaining a deep understanding of Alishan from a plant's perspective, offering a brand-new experience that combines aesthetics and popular science for interacting with nature.
