(CNA New York, June 19, via AP) New York Yankees starting right-hander Cam Schlittler delivered a dominant performance on the mound today, pitching 6 innings and striking out 13 batters, marking his first career regular-season game with double-digit strikeouts, to help the Yankees defeat the Cincinnati Reds 5-0.

According to the Associated Press, Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a solo home run off Reds pitcher Rhett Lowder in the bottom of the second inning, and Ben Rice later hit a three-run homer. Anthony Volpe added an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. The Yankees have won 10 of their last 15 games since "The Judge" Aaron Judge has been sidelined with a stress fracture in his right rib.

Schlittler recorded 5 strikeouts with his four-seam fastball averaging 97.9 mph, while his curveball and sinker each contributed 4 strikeouts, surpassing his previous record of 12 strikeouts over 8 innings against archrival Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of last year's AL Wild Card Series.

At 25 years and 134 days old, Schlittler became the youngest Yankees pitcher to record 13 strikeouts in a single game since Al Downing, who was 22 years and 359 days old when he also struck out 13 against the Chicago White Sox on June 21, 1964.

Schlittler also became the youngest Yankees pitcher to record 13 strikeouts in a single game without issuing a walk. His ERA after the game was 1.71, the lowest for a Yankees pitcher through their first 16 starts of a season since Whitey Ford's 1.47 in 1964. (Compiled by Lu Ying-tzu) 1150620
