(CNA Taipei, June 20) Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an posed for a promotional photo with KMT councilors today. When asked about this, Democratic Progressive Party mayoral candidate Shen Po-yang responded that collaborating with councilors is primarily about listening to citizens' voices and understanding city affairs to propose better policies, which is the true meaning of such collaboration.

Shen Po-yang visited the Jiying Temple in Jingmei this morning and then canvassed in the Jingmei Market, accompanied by DPP Taipei City Councilors Chien Shu-pei and Wang Min-sheng, as well as councilor candidates Liu Pin-hsin and Chen Sheng-wen. Shen Po-yang made the above remarks during a joint interview after the temple visit.

When asked if his recent canvassing was targeting the KMT's stronghold in Taipei's Wenshan District, Shen Po-yang said he did not consider whether it was a stronghold. Residents of Wenshan District are also citizens of Taipei. He hopes to listen to citizens' voices through temple visits and canvassing, and to propose policies on livelihood issues, regardless of political stance.

When asked about the response from KMT New Taipei mayoral candidate Li Chih-chiang to Shen Po-yang's proposed solution for Neihu traffic, which stated that Chiang Wan-an has been working hard and implementing solutions for the past three years, Shen Po-yang responded that if it had been in progress, why hasn't the local traffic been resolved? He was still happy to receive affirmation, indicating that the direction he proposed is correct. He added that Taipei citizens want to understand the current implementation status of the Taipei City Government and areas that need improvement, not political rhetoric or claims that related policies have been perfected.

In addition, Shen Po-yang launched his first wave of campaign materials today. He said that the official campaign visual identity should be released in July or August. This campaign material emphasizes "you," representing that he will be a mayoral candidate who listens, systematically organizes citizens' opinions, prioritizes them, and proposes a vision.

When asked for his opinion on the recent discussion surrounding pineapple and custard apples, Shen Po-yang said that the Mainland Affairs Council mentioned political risks. He stated that how to handle such risks is a situation that all farmers in Taiwan might encounter. If he is elected mayor, he will assist Taipei farmers in marketing their fruits internationally and to countries without so-called political preconditions.

During the interview, Shen Po-yang also mentioned the historical culture of the Jiying Temple in Jingmei, the characteristics of the nearby commercial streets, and the natural scenery. He said that if elected, he will assist in the overall integration to allow more people to understand the local landscape. (Editor: Li Shu-hua) 0620115
