(CNA reporter Yu Hsia-han, Taipei, June 21) Media reports stated that an employee at Chunghwa Post's A7 campus revealed a long-standing "no sitting" culture in the mail sorting department, requiring employees to stand while sorting mail. In response, Chunghwa Post clarified that there are no such regulations, has conducted an investigation, and will immediately review and correct any improper management or speech by supervisors.

Media reports indicated that an employee complained that Chunghwa Post's feudal regulations were still being brought to the new A7 campus (Postal Logistics Park), with internal rules requiring employees to stand while sorting mail, completely disregarding labor laws and leading to illegal abuse of subordinates.

In response, Chunghwa Post stated to the media that the current regulations and operating procedures at the Taipei Mail Processing Center within the A7 campus do not mandate standing or prohibit sitting during operations. Mail sorting will be arranged appropriately based on actual operational needs and employee physical condition.

Chunghwa Post said that regarding supervisors requiring standing work and linking it to probationary period evaluations, the Taipei Mail Processing Center has conducted an investigation, and any improper management or speech will be immediately reviewed and corrected.

Chunghwa Post stated that the Taipei Mail Processing Center has established health management mechanisms for ergonomic hazards and prevention of abnormal work loads in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and regularly conducts health examinations, occupational physician consultations, and related follow-up measures.

Chunghwa Post said that it will continue to strengthen occupational safety management and communication mechanisms, balancing operational efficiency with employees' health rights. (Editor: Huang Ming-hsi) 1150621
