(CNA, Taipei, June 21) The Ministry of National Defense announced today that starting at 8:10 AM, 19 Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan's southwestern airspace and the Western Pacific for "long-range training." The Taiwan military is closely monitoring the situation.

The Ministry of National Defense issued a press release this afternoon stating that starting at 8:10 AM, a total of 21 Chinese aircraft, including J-16 fighters, KJ-500 airborne early warning aircraft, and YY-20 tankers, were detected conducting sorties. Among them, 19 aircraft entered Taiwan's southwestern airspace and the Western Pacific for "long-range training."

The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the Taiwan military is closely monitoring the situation using joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets, and has dispatched mission aircraft, vessels, and shore-based missile systems to respond appropriately.
