(CNA reporter Xiao Boyang, Nantou County, June 22) The Aowanda Nature Education Center is offering a 3-day, 2-night wildlife investigation research program during the summer. The program includes indoor professional lectures, practical field investigation, construction of a scientific database, and rich outdoor ecological practices, guiding participants to understand the habits, behaviors, and habitats of wild animals.

The Nantou Forest District Office of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, announced today that as human and wildlife living spaces increasingly overlap, to help the public establish correct conservation thinking, the Aowanda Nature Education Center and the Wildlife Conservation Society of Taichung City will launch the Wildlife Investigation Research Program 3.0 from August 7th to 9th. Through a 3-day, 2-night in-depth exploration, participants will be led into rich ecological habitats.

The Nantou Forest District Office explained that wild animals are not only found in deep mountains but are also widely distributed in urban or low-mountain environments. To truly eliminate human-wildlife conflict, the first step is to understand the living habits, behavioral patterns, and habitat needs of wild animals. The course starts with basic ecological knowledge, combined with practical field investigation, allowing participants to learn skills in observing and interpreting ecological information.

The Nantou Forest District Office pointed out that the highlights of this upgraded research program include learning the habits of common wild animals in the wild, and personally operating professional biological investigation equipment and tracking techniques. Participants will conduct a simple survey of the wildlife resources in the Aowanda park and attempt to preserve the data in a "database" format. This data will be used in the future as a reference for park management and to enrich the development of the nature education center's courses.

The Nantou Forest District Office stated that as the boundaries between human and wildlife habitats increasingly overlap, at the end of the course, instructors will lead participants to jointly consider the deeper meaning of coexistence between humans and wild animals, transforming theory into daily conservation actions. This research program not only cultivates conservation vanguards with scientific observation abilities but also guides the public to contemplate solutions for human-nature coexistence and prosperity.
