(CNA Moscow, June 22, comprehensive foreign news) Russian authorities stated that dozens of Ukrainian drones were shot down in the capital Moscow early this morning, and airport flights were also temporarily suspended. Last week, Ukraine attacked the city's only oil refinery.

According to Reuters, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on the messaging app Telegram that nearly 60 drones flying to Moscow were shot down, and emergency services have been dispatched to the areas where the drones fell.

The civil aviation regulatory agency stated separately that Moscow's Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports, as well as Zhukovskiy Airport near the capital, were temporarily suspended, but have since resumed operations.

This attack occurred days after Ukrainian drones hit Moscow's only oil refinery again. Russia stated that nearly 200 drones were shot down by air defense systems during last week's offensive. This was one of the largest air raids on Moscow since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

In addition, Mikhail Razvozhayev, the mayor of Sevastopol in Russian-occupied Crimea, also announced on Telegram the cancellation of all outdoor public events in the city today, the extinguishing of streetlights, and urged citizens to conserve electricity.

Crimea is a popular tourist destination for Russian citizens, but due to recent Ukrainian drone attacks on its supply routes and energy facilities, fuel shortages have occurred, and the local area has suspended the sale of fuel to the public and businesses. Currently, fuel supplies are limited to government agencies responsible for basic services and security. (Compiled by Shi Shi) 1150622
