In "The Wedding I owed You," Chang Hsiao-chuan plays a decadent middle-aged man, and a crying scene left a deep impression on the audience. Chang Hsiao-chuan shared through a press release that he had never cried out loud before, neither in his personal life nor in past crying scenes, but he did so for the first time in this scene. "I think it's a good thing because I believe actors always hope to have different facets of themselves discovered." Yan Yiwen also said, "It felt like in that moment, we allowed the actor Chang Hsiao-chuan to release something of his own, something we didn't know."
Huang Di-yang is paired with Fang Chih-yu in the drama, and they go to great lengths to adopt a child. Speaking about the collaboration with Yan Yiwen, Fang Chih-yu said, "I also felt her quiet strictness. In the final adoption scene, I felt a sense of complete devastation." Huang Di-yang described participating in the drama as a "shocking education," and that every shot involved continuous adjustments to lines and emotional states with each NG.
Huang Di-yang revealed a small surprise: the child adopted in the drama is his own daughter. "Yan Yiwen asked me before filming, and my wife and I readily agreed. For that scene, the whole family of four was mobilized, and even my wife and second daughter were in that shot."
Speaking about the atmosphere on set, Yan Yiwen admitted that in her creative process, she tried to present "male vulnerability," and jokingly said, "As a result, I made all the male actors quite vulnerable." Hsieh Ying-hsuan quipped, "It's okay, because in your last production, you made the female actors vulnerable (referring to the film that won her Best Actress)." (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150623
