(CNA reporter He Xiuling, Taipei, June 23) RT-SAYS announced that its franchised PX Mart Zhonglun store will cease operations on September 13, mainly due to long-term losses and the inability to improve profitability after negotiations with the landlord, leading to the decision to close the store and stop the bleeding. As for the other PX Mart Zhonghe store, which is franchised by RT-Mart, it will continue to operate.

RT-SAYS told CNA reporters today that the Zhonglun store will definitely end its business on September 13. In recent years, affected by e-commerce competition and changes in consumption patterns, operational pressure has increased, coupled with heavy rental burdens. Even though the landlord has shown goodwill by adjusting rental terms, after evaluation, it is still difficult to improve the loss situation, so the decision has been made to end operations.

RT-SAYS pointed out that observing the changes in the hypermarket retail market in recent years, competitors have also adjusted their store layouts due to reasons such as lease expirations. After comprehensive evaluation, the decision was made to close the Zhonglun store to reduce losses.

RT-SAYS also stated that the Zhonglun store is currently a store franchised by PX Mart and operated by PX Mart. Subsequent arrangements for related employees will be handled by PX Mart to assist with job matching and arrangements.

The PX Mart Zhonglun store was formerly the RT-Mart Zhonglun store, which opened at the end of 2004 and was once one of the few large hypermarkets in Taipei's central business district.
