KYIV, Ukraine (CNA) - Ukrainian officials reported that Russia launched night air raids on the northern and southeastern parts of Ukraine, resulting in 6 injuries. Meanwhile, Ukrainian air strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, reaching as far as Siberia, have exacerbated Russia's fuel crisis.
Ivan Fedorov, the governor of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, stated today on the Telegram messaging app that 2 people were injured and sought medical assistance following Russian attacks in the southeastern part of Ukraine.
In Ukraine's northern Sumy region, emergency services reported that 3 people were injured last night.
Additionally, Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, was attacked by drones last night, injuring one woman.
Reuters could not independently confirm the details of these latest air raids at this time.
Russian Fuel Crisis Widens
Concurrently, Ukraine's attacks on Russian maritime logistics and supply routes have triggered a fuel crisis in Russia and its occupied territories.
Kyiv's air strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, targeting locations as far as Siberia, over 2,000 kilometers from the front lines, have further impacted the domestic gasoline and diesel supply of the world's third-largest crude oil producer.
The fuel crisis has now spread from Russia-occupied Crimea to eastern regions and even to the Omsk region in the Siberian Plain.
Omsk, located near the Kazakh border and approximately 2,500 kilometers southeast of Moscow, saw its governor announce on the Telegram messaging app that restrictions on fuel sales have begun. (Compiled by Chi Chin-ling) 0623
